This past Sunday, 6 September, marked the 157th anniversay of the birth of Felix Salten, the pen name of Austrian writer Sigmund Salzmann. He is best known as the author of Bambi: A Life in the Woods, a classic work of 20th Century children's literature that was later turned into a popular animated film by Walt Disney.
Salten wrote many novels featuring animals as the main characters, including Bambi's Children, Perri, A Forest World, Fifteen Rabbits, Renni the Rescuer and Florian, the Emperor's Stallion. I've long admired Salten's writing and his books have been a major influence on my life and my creative work.

--- Summer programming has returned to the RooToo video channel!
Twilight Sparkle and the Mane Six are off for the summer
and will return in October. Taking their place are a couple
of RooCam LIVE! favorites: Kim Possible and
the ever-popular T.U.F.F. Puppy!
Catch them Monday through Thursday evenings on the RooToo
channel. As the Summer continues, other shows may be added
to the schedule, so stay tuned!
The Ponies aren't completely gone, however! Tonight we continue our special celebration of Season SIX of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Every Friday we'll show an episode from the 6th season of MLP:FIM on the 10th anniversary of its debut. Tonight's episode: "The Fault is in Our Cutie Marks." A young griffon named Gabby asks the Cutie Mark Crusaders to help her get her own cutie mark (Gabby is one of the best characters that debuted in Season 6). "The fault, Dear Scootaloo, is not in our cutie marks, but in ourselves."
We'll follow that with episodes of our latest addition to the RooToo Friday line-up: George of the Jungle. And then a Season 11 episode of Futurama. After that, some classic short cartoons on Toon In With Me.
Then, we'll finish up with our Friday Night Movie:
Another surprise presentation -- tune in and find out!

tonight's surprise movie (which MIGHT give you a hint as to what it
